- (continued from previous page)on account of its position on the border of Lough Ramor and the Blackwater River. It is said that the danes ravaged a monastery which was built on an island in Lough Ramor.
- I live in the townland of Lisduff and in the Maghera district. It is in the barony of Castleraghan.
There are twelve families in my native townland and about forty five persons (adult) The most common name is "Tobin" The land is flat and fairly good.
Lisduff borders on the main road which runs from Cavan to Dublin. There is a post-office, four grocer's shops and a Catholic Church in it. Drapery and minerals are obtainable in the shops also so that Lisduff is fast developing into a village- Collector
