    It blew down trees, knocked houses and killed many people.
    There was a flood in 1918 and again in 1921, and thousands of people perished.
    Some time ago a man who was driving a bread-cart from Old-castle fell off it at Corregh Bridge and was killed.
    A girl from Lisgrey was drowened when crossing a bridge over Correagh river.
    During the night some time ago a byre with three cows in it was burned on John Brady of Aughacashel. The owner was un-aware of it, though up on the Maghera road eight or nine miles away a crowd of people were watching the flames.
    In 1918 there was a great plague of influenza, many families were wiped out.
