- In the famine times the Government used to send round a cart with porrige to the people, and sometimes the landlords would give bacon and soup to any person that would become a Protestant. Those who got help from the landlords were called "soupers".

- At the end of the lane leading to Lurgan Church a man lived by the name of Pat Farrelly, R.I.P. he died some years after the famine. In Correagh there was another old house. It was occupied by a man the name of Farrelly, R.I.P. He was(continues on next page)
