This poem was written by P. Smith who lived in the townland of Staviernabo, Lavey. He wrote a great deal of other poems. He died a good while ago. - William Mc Clery was a poet. He makes none now. he lives in Drumagolan. he was born about the year 1878. He is now sixty years of age. The gift of poetry came to him suddenly. he only made short sketches. He was a farmer, but let his farm go to ruin. he composed in English.
