    One fine day in the month of May
    When the bloom was on the trees
    Father Comey came along in search of a hive of Bees.
    He drove up to my avenue gate
    and blew his horn loud
    I thought it was a thunderbolt came right down from the clouds
    He called out John will you come along and I'll take you for a drive
    For I heard You were a judge of Bees and that you know the hives
    II
    I whipped a dish-cloth from the shelf to clear my face of dirt
    A dikky then I hurried on of course I had no shirt.
    My old waistcoat then I buttoned up, my old coat as black as tar
    And soon I was beside him in his little Baby Car.
    The petrol he let down you see the engine gave a roar.
    The car she jumped up four feet high
    I was groping for the door
