- I
It being in the pleasant month of May
The day being clear and long,
The fields were green, the meadows gay
the Lark and Linnet's sung;
Being reconciled as nature smiled, I thus employed my quill
To sound the praise of heroes brave
"I mean the boys of Kill."
II
Those boys are free and unity among them does abide
They're of one mind and well inclined they're free and void of pride
To stand their cause and gain applause
Their precious blood would spill
and the Brunswick hounds of Cootehill town
will mind the boys of Kill.
