    Long ago there were shops at the cross roads.
    These were called "hucksters". Sometimes old pedlars come round gathering rags and feather. A shilling is known as a bob in this district a sixpence is known as a tanner, a penny is known as a copper. Crowns have gone out of use in this locality. There are no stories of coins which have returned to their owner.
