- Mrs. Charles McDonnell lived in semi regal fashion at West End Kilkee and had two celebrated retainers- these two retainers were
Sean de h-Ora and Sean Lloyd
Sean de h-Ora was her blacksmith and looked after her horses.
The other was the poet and schoolmaster Sean Lloyd. They both composed songs and poems in praise of her and her husband and lamentations for Charles McDonnell when he died.
There is a story told of Sean Lloyd and his famous poem " Cois leasa is me go h-Uaigneac.
There is fort at Tarmon called Lios na Fearainne or Mantle Fort near Hugh Talty's land
It is said that Sean Lloyd the famous poet and one of the retainers of Mrs. Charles McDonnell(continues on next page)- Collector
