    There was a well in Connell's field but it was closed by the people long ago but it afterwards broke out again at Cill na mBan Ora.
    There is a very famous and popular holy well near Milltown known as St. Joseph's Well and used to be visited twice a week
    by pilgrims and rounds performed with usual prayers and devotions.
    A certain Protestant lady who was on holiday long ago at Spanish Point and seeing the pilgrims at the well on different days, looked on the whole thing as idolatrous.
    Passing by the well one day she threw in her terrier- it is thought to desecrate the well.
    A few days later she and a friend were sitting on a rock at Spanish Point reading.
    The day was beautifully fine and the sea as calm as could be when suddenly a powerful
