  1. The people used make Boxty cakes in this locality. The way they made them was:- They got potatoes and mashed them up, then they got the flour, breadsoda and salt and mixed them well. They made dough of the mixture with milk. They baked the cake in an oven with lard or dripping under the cake. The way they made oaten meal cake was: They got the oaten meal and mixed it with a little flour, breadsoda and salt and made them into dough with milk.
    The people baked the bread every week. They put a cross on the top of the cakes.
