    man came into the house on May Day and put the coulter of a plough in the fire while you would be making the butter you could not make any butter for the year.
    A story:- There was once a man and a woman. She was supported to have the ways of a witch. She had a blue bottle and once she had a cow that was going to calf. She told the man not to put any manure in the calf mouth when he was born. He said he would not.
    The man knew then that there must be something strange in this so he out the manure in the calf's mouth for if he did not he would not have any butter for the year. Then when he had this done he went into the kitchen and he drank the glass of whisky which she promised him. Then she went into the room abd looked through the blue bottle and she said "you have fooled me - you did put the manure in the calf's mouth". The man said he did not. Then she gave him the blue-bottle to
