For the convenience of the people in the Dromod district, the house of Patrick McCabe, Munnea (now Johnny Connolly's) was used as a kind of "Collection Box". The letters were left on a table in a room or a postman came at intervals (or perhaps daily) from Cootehill and brought them there. It was common gossip how much 'safer' letters were in Mr McCabe's than in many of the local post offices.(no title)
