Hucksters went round the roads selling bread and they would say “Fresh bread” Fresh bread” who wants fresh bread.? Pedlers had big long bags. They gave needles and pins for rags and feathers. When they had their bags full they would tie it up in the middle with a rein and they carried them on their backs. The names for coins were “tanner” “bob” and “quid”
