- (continued from previous page)Long ago when people were buried in the old graveyard stones were put up against the graves to keep the wolves from tearing up the dead bodies.
- There are five graveyards in Knockbride Parish. In the old graveyard beside Knockbride Church stands the ruins of an old Church in which Catholics and Protestants worshipped in former days.
The Catholics had mass early in the morning and the Protestants had their service later.
The family of Adams from Shinan house, Shercock are buried inside the walls of this old ruin.
There is also an old vault in the old graveyards but no one has been buried in it for over a hundred years.
The people who buried in it were [Minnitt?] from Ballybay.
The old graveyard over looks Knockbride Lake and very few are buried in it now.(continues on next page)- Collector
