    died in 1870 and to whose memory a monument was erected by a grateful tenantry at Clonlara Cross caused this well to be fenced round about 1855. Tradition has it that this well had been at the right hand side of the road and that it changed to the left. It is located about a hundred yards from the main roads. It is divided into two parts; Some of the water is (cured)used for cursing all manners of diseases and the other part of it is used for drinking. There is also another well to the memory of St. Senan in the graveyard. St. Senan is supposed to have passed by Doonass on horseback and on his way his horse fell and the print of his head and knees came out on the rock and St. Senan's hands. The round stone is ow filled with water and this water is used by all those people who suffer from headaches. There is another well in Bappivalla called St. Mochuille is supposed to be the St. who gave the veil to St. Bridget and is also a brother of Saint
