cows. Long ago the people used milk their cows outside in the field during Summer. One May day while people were milking their cows the neighbors used hide near the ditches and watch them milking the cows seeking their chance to get the spancel. If they got is they would take it home with them and hang it on a peg and put a pan under it. Then they caught both ends of the spancel and drew it up and down as if milking a cow and said special words and milk came from the spancel and filled the pan.
People do not drink or colour tea with milk they get from the cow after calving because it is very strong and yellow. But people give it to calves and bonhams.
