  1. The Landlord of Truagh was Colonal O Donnell, he lived in Truagh Castle.
    He was not a very good Landlord, when the farmers asked him to reduce the rent and rates he would not. On one occasion the Landlord came to a certain man’s house for to ask him for the rent money.
    It was on St Martin’s Day that he came, and the people of the house had a pig killed for St Martin.
    Then the landlord said to them why wouldn’t they sell the pig and have the money for the rent but they said to him that they always kill something for St Martin’s day. But he said them if they ate the pig , it would do no good for St Martin.
    He was a Protestant .
