- There was once a man and his wife who lived in a little cottage. One night the old man died and was buried next day. On the following night a man came dressed in a brown habit to the door of the cottage. He knocked at the door and out came the woman. She asked him who he was. He answered saying, "Wisha, a gradh, don't you know your own husband Patsey." "I came for money as I would not be let into heaven unless I pay my debts." I have no money to-night" she said, "but if you come to-morrow night I will give it to you." The old man said "All right, I will." Next day she went to the bank to get the money.
