- There is a lake situated midway between Tulla and Feakle known as Roslara Lake. It is a very nice lake about a mile long and a half mile wide. On this lake about three hundred yards from the shore there is an island built of stone with a road leading from the shore to the island which wan be seen beneath the water on a bright summer's evening History tells us that a hermit once built the island and inhabitated it during his life doing penance. Overlooking the lake is a high hill with a large fort of a very ancient class. It is considered that there is an under ground passage in this fort. Where it is leading to nobody seems to know.
