When an old woman called Biddy Guinane was dying, she said that there was a crock of gold buried in our bog.
The field in which it is buried is the one nearest to Scariff and next to the bog road.
Two of the Dinans who live near us decided to go look for it. The night that they looked for it was very dark.
They dug a hole in the ground. After a while they saw a pot. They were overjoyed at having seen the pot. Just as they were going to grasp the pot, a small man appeared on the top of it.
