    worn on all occasions and often lasted a life-time.it was very often made of black cloth called "broad-cloth".Every girl when married wore a white Linen cap -in fact the the usual custom was to be married in a "dress-cap"one decorated with be-be ribbon.
    The pillion was a leather cushion with looped strap of leather in which the lady put her foot when mounting on the pillion and it was then formed a rest for her feet.
