    Hidden Treasure.
In the townland of Rylane where the land of Mrs McMahon joins that of John Mangan's a pot of gold is supposed to be buried.Long ago some boys from the neighbourhood went at midnight to search for the treasure.
It is supposed that they were only a foot above the gold when balls of hailstone as big as marbles fell from the heavens. This did not frighten them and they kept digging on.The shower of hailstone was followed by terrible thunder and lightening which nearly burned them .At this they got frightened and ran in haste to their homes.
This was the only attempt was ever made to unearth the hidden gold.
