The Patron St of the Locality.
There is a well called after St Finghin who is the patron St of Quin, situated in a field called the Commons. The field is on the right bank of the river Rhine .The well is dried up now but the site is still pointed out.it is said that it was desecrated by the Normans. The well sprang up in the trunk of a tree nine feet from the ground. This well was much venerated and people used to visit on certain days of the year.
There are also the remains of an old church called after him .This church is said to have been built in the thirteenth century .When De Clare was going to Dysart in year 1318 he and his army took refuge in the church. The Dalgais burned it over their heads. It fell into ruins and now only three walls stand,it is now used as a burial place.
The protestants call their church which is near the old church St Finghin's church.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
