About two weeks after the furrows are ploughed in order that no potatoes would be left in the furrow, also to put earth to he stalks.
The putting of earth to the stalks is called
    “Banking” the potatoes.
When the stalks are big they are sprayed with blue-stone and and washing soda.
The reason they are sprayed is to protect them from the blight
Some people spray their potatoes a few times to make them grow.
