    It is an old saying that the day before Christmas Eve is the shortest day in the year.
    It is not right to go anywhere visiting out of your own house on Christmas night.
    It is an old custom to leave the door open on Christmas night for it is said the Blessed Virgin goes around into every house that night if the door is left open.
