    He fastens it on with some nails. He has a special kind of nails for shoeing horses and asses. It is said that nearly all blacksmiths swallow a spark before they are twenty years of age and they spend the remainder of their lives trying to quench it by drinking. So that is the reason why so many blacksmiths drink as much as they do. Blacksmiths do not do as much trade as other men do, because the horses do not need to be shod so often.
