- Potatoes are growing on our farm. About three acres of potatoes are sown under ground each year.
The amount varys some years.
The workmen prepares the ground.
The ground does be manured before it is turned up.
The potatoes are sown in drills. A plough is used for making them. I dont know if wooden ploughs were ever used or not. I dont know if there is any wooden ploughs left.
The spades are bought in shops.
The potatoes are cut up in halves and sown about a foot apart.
