- The Coast Guards station was built about sixty years ago. It was occupied by men of the British Navy. An Officer, chief Boats man, and five men were the strength of the building.
They were kept there in reserve. When the war broke out in the year one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, the Officers and the five men were called up to strengthen the British Navy.
