- The houses were built of mud, and stones were put around the doors and windows to keep them firm. They would go to the wood and get timber for the Couples and they got light timber for "thiveans" and nail them on to the couples. They used to get scraws and put them down on the timber before they used to put on the roof. The roof was made with thatch. They used to pout rows of sugáns across the thatch and tie the sugáns to the stones on the "boondelawn." They used to do that every(continues on next page)
