- There was a man who lived around here a long time ago. There was a manure heap about two hundred yards away from his house. He said he would make a pair of wings and fly from the top of the house to the manure heap. He made the wings of cloth and put them on his arms. He then went up on his house and began to fly. He flew from the house to about thirty yards beyond the manure. He did this every morning for about a week until the wings broke and he could not make another pair like them.
