- A Story.There was a man living in Joycepark and his name was Mr. Thornton. Mr. Thornton used not go to Mass except at very odd times. He used to go up to Donaghpatrick graveyard hunting for rabbits because they were very plentiful there. One day he caught a rabbit and when he was killing him the parish priest of Caherlistrane passed and the priest saw him. The priest went away and read Mass in Caherlistrane and he had a sermon. It was about the man who would rather go up to Donaghpatrick graveyard killing rabbits than to go to Mass. He cursed the rabbits in the graveyard and said that there would not be a rabbit seen in that graveyard ever(continues on next page)
