- There was a priest around Shrule in the penal days and he used to say Mass on a Mass stone on near Tuam. Some one paid him for a Mass and he never said it. He died and a man saw him in a chapel and the priest said "anyone here to serve my Mass". Another priest saw him again and he served his Mass and the priest told him he was to go straight to Heaven
- There was once an old man from Shrule. He had three son's. When he was dying he had horse a cow and a calf. He left the horse to his eldest son, the(continues on next page)
