    Greatest nights fun that could be imagined would be had. There was one night about sixty years ago my grandmother made the colcannon and put her wedding-ring in it and all the young people sat around the table and started eating out of the dish like mad. There was great excitement when they came to the last spoonfull for everybody thought sure it was in it, but that was eaten and no sign of the ring. They were all terribly dissappointed and they began to think my grandmother hadn't put in the ring at all so as to have the fun with them. When my grandmother heard there was no ring in it she was in an awful way. So then some of them thought they had swallowed
