- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)refused to sign the claim until he proved he was the est swordsman. The Tioboid challenged him to combat. They drew their swords and the duel began. It happened that there was an old woman washing clothes by the stream. Sh (Tioboid) knew "Tioboid" because she had often seen him passing by on his way to Galway. She saw that the Englishman was tiring "Tioboid" out hoping to get a chance to stab him to death. She spoke in Irish to "Tioboid" saying "Seacain do thimcallán A Thigearna" where upon Tioboid became more cautious and changed his sword to his left hand and with one swift blow killed the Englishman.
