- Long ago St Brigit came to this county. One day she was walking on a road near Neiphin mountain. She was choking with the thirst and she could not get a drink any where so she went in to a house on the side of the road. There was a pagan and his wife living in the house and she asked for a drink. The woman of the house got a mug and she went to the churn to fill it. When she had it filled she went to a room and she put poison into it. St Brigit knew that there was poison in it. She took up a piece of straw off the ground and she made the sign of the cross over it. The poison went and she drank it. This man and his wife knew that she was belong to the true God. They saw this great performance and they became the best christians that ever went in to a chapel.
