On Shrove Tuesday night the people of this district make pan cakes.
A lot of marriages take place on Shrove Tuesday.
St Patricks Day
On St Patricks Day the people in this country wear Shamrock to honour St Patrick. Every person that has a green garment on that wears it. Long ago there used to be Patterns held at blessed wells and abbeys and all the men use to gather and they used to have all sorts of games and faction fights there. They used to take drink to honour St. Patrick and they used to take too much and they used to call it wetting the shamrock.
Easter
Long ago the young boys of this district used to get up very early on Easter Sunday morning to see the sun dancing, and they use(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
