Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)that take care of the fowl. They put them into a small house every night and see that it is secure for fear of the fox breaking into it. They have perches in the house for the hens; and the ducks and geese sleep on the ground, where a new bed is put for them every evening. The ducks and geese lay their eggs during the day. When a hen is hatching she stops laying. Then someone gets a box; puts a nest of hay in it and puts in the clutch of eggs, and when putting the hen on the eggs she blesses herself. Hen eggs are left down for a month. In summer people pen in their hens so that they do not damage the crops, and in winter they let them out around the fields. It is said that it is unlucky to have clutches coming out in the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
