- The grave-yard in Knock is situated on the side of a hill and about two hundred yards from the public road. It is a big grave-yard made from a big square field. It can be readily and easily seen from point of view around the church. Its boundary line consists of four cement walls. There is an iron gate at the entrance. The gate is there for the purpose of allowing people in or out. Neat paths are to be seen throughout the grave-yard.
The funerals and wakes long ago were far different than what they are now. It was a custom to keep the remains in the houses for two or three nights. At the wakes the people used to play all kinds of games and the man in whose house the wake was used to distribute tobacco and pipes.
