- In the olden times food was different than it is now. There were three meals eaten a day. The breakfast, dinner, and the supper. They used to have potatoes for the breakfast, and a sauspan of butter-milk. For the dinner oat-cakes or potato cakes and a drink of black-tea, and for supper poridge and new milk.
