- There is a place in the river of Carrowneden that is called Poll Reachard. It got that name because a man named Reachard and his son got drowned there. There is a big deep hole of water in the townlnad of Coolnaha that is called Poll Corraigh. People say it got that name because a man and plow and two horses got drowned there one hot Summer's day in the month of May.
