    A Potato Cake
December is the month for potato cakes. After dinner the best potatoes are selected, and peeled. They are then kneaded, and flour, salt, and soda added. It is then placed on a board, and rolled with a roller, and then cut into parleys. The parleys are then laid on the pan which is greased thoroughly. The potato cakes are turned occasionally as they become brown. When they are baked they are smeared with butter.
    An Oatmeal Cake
Oatmeal cakes are made during the winter season. Oatmeal is placed in a vessel and sugar and salt added. Water is then added and all the ingredients are mixed together.
