    the magic. The smith told him he would bring him the next night.
    The next night, the two set off, but before going the smith told him that, if he spoke, the spell would be broken. They rode on until they came to the Shannon.
    The smiths horse rose up and crossed the Shannon of a jump. The other man, on seeing the fine jump, could not hold his tongue, but shouted at the top of his voice "bravo". The spell was broken then and both fell into the Shannon. It was with great difficulty they swam to land and they had to return home on foot, sad and weary.
