    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
with a red iron cast him into a barn among a pack of hungary dogs, One big black dog put the boy on his back and took him back to the girl he was going to marry.
The girl was glad to see him. She took him to the top of a hill. There she saw a bird with one eye, one wing, one leg. The bird bathed in a well which was under a lone whitethorn bush and her sight and missing limbs were restored. On seing this the girl dipped the boy in the well and his sight was restored.
The boy then went to the castle and found the belt which he put on. He then caught the giant and threw him to the dogs who ate him. He tied his mother to the top of a chimney where she in a few days.
Nicolas got married and lived with his wife in Killedan. It is thought that his wife's sister was married to Frank Taffe's uncle.
