- (continued from previous page)was not allowed to run after them tried to hit some of the running players. If he failed to hit anybody, a daisy was put in his cap, and if he hit some player the daisy was put in that boy's cap.
They kept on playing in this way, each boy tossing the ball to the caps on his turn, until some boy had got seven daisies in his cap. Little stones were often used instead of daisies. A boy got a daisy in his cap if he failed to put the ball in some cap during his three tosses, or if he failed to hit some players with the ball when it fell in his cap, or if he was hit by some other player in whose cap the ball had fallen.
It was a very exciting game. The boy who had got the first seven daisies, had to submit to some small punishment from the other players. He(continues on next page)- Collector
