  1. Once there was a young man sick in a village called Coillean. The people of the village used to call in to see him. One night an old woman came to see him. She was a near friend of his own. When she was leaving he said to her that he would be there when she would come again. The old woman left the house at halfpast twelve and she had about a half a mile to go.
    When she was coming near her own home she heard a noise and she looked behind her, and she saw a horse without a head, and a man riding on him going down a valley towards an old graveyard that was near the place. Shortly afterwards
