- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)A few nights ago Mrs Anne Doherty of Carrowbawn told me about 68 years ago when boys from Fonsforth and Carrowbawn were fishing in Carnacull they found a bronze hammer, a gold pot, hook and lumps of gold. It was said at the time that McManus from Fonsforth sold some of it in Ballina, but it is not known how much money he realised for it.
She also said that Pat Road Dohery whose son is married in the house beside the Bridge which crosses the river in which the precious articles were found got the pot containing these objects, and as there was a strong rumour at the time that the Police were going to raid his house for it, he buried it in what is now known(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
