If a churning was making in a house the old people would not let a lighted coal be brought out because they used to say it would bring the butter from the house in which the churning was making. If the butter would be brought out of a house and people wanted to know who was bringing it they would put a forge iron in the fire and whoever was bringing the butter would have to come and go churning. When they would have the churning finished he would have to pay for the butter.
