    The great local fairs are held in Westport on the following days. November 1st, New Years Day and May 22nd. Horses and cattle are sold on the first two days. Cattle on the third. Besides this there is a small cattle fair each month. Pigs and bonhams are sold on market days, Thursday each week-
    On there are fat pigs sol for Christmas , this day is called "lá na mac".
    There is "a pattern" held in Murrish village each year, last Monday in August. The local people sell mountain sheep that day.
