- When the soldiers were following Saint Joseph, Our Lady and their child they met a clock and asked it if it saw the Holy Family passing and the clock said it saw them passing the day before. The soldiers went on and they met a wasp and asked it did it see the Holy Family. The wasp said that it saw them passing that day. So the people still say "kill the clock and burn the wasp"
Another day when the soldiers were following the Holy Family they met a man cutting oats and asked him did he see the Holy Family passing and the man said he did when he was setting the oats but a wasp jumped up and said "that was yesterday" and that is another reason that the people burn the wasp.- Faisnéiseoir
