- About sixty-five years ago a man named John Sammon who lived in Carrowskeheen emigrated to America.
He composed many songs. One of the songs he composed was "The Carrowskeheen Tenants."
He cut his turf on nephin and brought it home on his back.
John Sammons was able to read and write, and all the large words he had in these songs he got them in a dictionary.
He died about thirty years ago, and is buried in America.
On the next page is one of the songs he composed.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
